Commercial Music Ensemble is a full-year course sequence, which provides students, with basic music performance experience, the opportunity to further develop their skills in a small ensemble setting. With a balance of theory and practical applications, students will specialize their study on the guitar, bass guitar, drum set, synthesizer, or vocal technique, and all students will learn to generate, record, and manipulate audio for various performance, broadcast, archival, and commercial projects. In small ensembles (Rock Bands)of 5-6 musicians, students will study and perform music of various genres, countries, and eras. Students will generate CD’s of their own performances, for evaluation and demonstration purposes. In higher levels of this class, students will also have the opportunity to start and run their own record label.
